In August visitors to the Archaeological Park of the Aquincum Museum can find out about the world of excavations at the open excavation conducted in the northern part of the Civil Town, in the so-called craftsmen’s and merchants’ quarter.
This year, the excavation continues in the so-called House of the Glue Manufacturer, where, as before, the archaeological work is supported by the National Cultural Fund of Hungary. We have placed a board on the site with information regarding previous excavations of the house and workshop, and what we know of the building’s history so far.
This year, the excavation will investigate the northern end of the living quarters of the building. Visitors will be able to view the excavation and ask questions from the excavating archaeologist from 11 August until 7 September (between Tuesday and Friday) between 09:00 and 16:00.
